I really want a pet weasel not a farret. I seen the cutest videos on YouTube of pet weasels (Ozzy the Weasel) I was wondering how I can get a pet weasel as a baby. I live in Florida..

I'm not sure. You could probably find a breeder, but to be honest, I wouldn't suggest it. I'm not sure if they are legal in Florida, but even if they are, Weasels are not domesticated, and are not great as pets. They bite hard, and can go down to the bone.

Ozzy is a least weasel, which is the smallest in the weasel family. They are very fast and eat all meat. You'd have to be prepared to provide a lot of room, deal with an extremely wild and bitey animal, and be prepared to provide whole prey or at least a variety of raw meats.

And just an FYI - Ozzy, if he's still alive, is not really his pet. He lives in his attic and comes and goes as he pleases. He rescued him as a baby and keeps food around for him, but he doesn't cage him or anything. And I've seen him mention how they are not good as pets.

If you want a weasel, look into helping a wildlife rescue with weasels OR get a ferret. They still do the war dancing, and all that that makes other weasel varieties cute.

A ferret IS a weasel, so is an ermine, a marten, an otter, and a mink. All are weasels. As far as I know there is almost no difference between a common chicken-stealing weasel and a ferret.

Someone who is breeding them. It'll be hard to find a breeder.
