First of all, if you are any good at all, raise your rates.

I'm assuming that you are too young to drive....that's good and bad. Walking is cheaper but keeps the number of customers limited.

I would suggest charging by the household and by the number of visits per day. Making about $5 per day per house would be nice. Maybe less if the pet is always in a cage and only needs attention once per day. Cleaning a cage can take time, though......

Be absolutely SURE that your parents have MET all of your customers and that they are trustworthy, nice people. Having a key to someones house is a HUGE responsibility and you DO NOT want any misunderstandings!!!!!

If you can charge a little extra for turning lights on and off while people are on vacation and bringing in their paper and mail you might make a little more money.

Let your parents talk to each customer first and help you work out a fee and chore schedule.

Have fun and be SURE to save at least HALF of your money for college!!!!!!!!!

I suppose that 2 per pet per day would be good depending upon the pet. The pet sitter that I use charges 10 a visit to walk my dog and change her water and give her some treats. Call other pet sitters in the area and see what they charge, and what services they offer. You don't have to tell them that you want to go into the same business, but at least it will give you an idea as to what your "competition" is doing!

Good luck and I hope you do well!

$2 per pet per day - are you serious? It seems like Pet-sitters her in CA get that - per pet, per 8 minutes!.

I had to go back to Europe for a week earlier this yr at v short notice and had a pet-sitter look in on my 2 bunnies on a daily basis - not more than 30 mins per day, but It cost me close to $200 for the week! Obviously, they are my babies and what it costs is what I pay but........maybe that's just California for you....

From a pet owner perspective, a consistently reliable and trust-worthy pet sitter is a diamond & priceless! Base your rates accordingly.

Also make sure that you are adequately insured, just in case the unthinkable happans!

well yes it's a good idea to do i know a friend who does it as her own business, she goes to the person's home 3 times a day and lets the dogs out, plays with them for a bit,and feeds them of course, she also takes the mail and news papers we are here in NY she charges $30 per day,so you could charge a bit more than $2.

call up numerous different puppy sitting agencies and inquire about their facilities as in case you're a conceivable clientask about daily, a weekly value, is there a charge for commute time and the adventure of the workers, ask if criminal heritage exams and drug finding out are performed on their workers, if the corporation is approved and bonded (bonded ability they have coverage in case there are complications that are expensive, you'd be coated) There are gasoline and automobile expenses, time lost with the aid of vacationing to and the interest, do a glance for for interest expenses, this grant you with an theory about what the marketplace regularly occurring is for what a puppy sitter rates. customers savor a busines it quite is approved abd bonded, depended on workers which have sparkling archives and no drug utilization , it tells them you're severe as a agency proprietor and it grant you with an earnings over the different similar agencies as well as peace of thoughts ,because you or your workers are going into their unattended homes

sad idea....try ten dollars a day, and they supply the food...you exercise 'em, and brush 'em and love 'em.....one pet, that is ten dollars a week with five days...five pets, at ten a day would be .....let's see....250. inna five day week....you are responsible for exercise, food, water, brushing, keeping them happy, talking to them...being on time and dependable, keeping them from arguing with each other....see where this is going? keeping an animal socialable is a big plus...being cooped up at home will make them chew the furniture, which is costly to replace, keeping them tied up makes them mean, in a cage they will pee & poop on them selfs, if people have that much love for tippy (my dogs name) they should be able to pay this without giving you too much whining...you'll have to set you limits...ten would be my limit, (I have nine dogs & have for years) and keep your books on this business too. go to the court house and register your business name...don't freeze up, it's easy...cost bout ten or seven dollars...the tax number is registered at the court house too...i think....cost bout 32.00...all worth it..to be able to see it on paper....How impressive, soon you'll have a portfolio, you'll learn a lot about life this way...and do give reciepts, you keep a copy and give them one....I don't think you have to tax people, because you are selling your service not a product....I'll bet in no time you could buy your own tin building and start grooming dogs....best of luck .....
