I have two guinea pigs and they have gnats around their cage. I have tried the thing where you put apple cider vinegar in a jar. Any other suggestions?

If you have ferns in woods near your house you can go and pick some of the fronds and hang them near the cage. Ferns are a natural insect (and gnat) repellent and work exceptionally well, plus, they are natural and free. Hope this helps a little. Even if you can't use it then at least you learned something!

Ah, yes... a few suggestions:
1) Clean the cage frequently. (Spot clean every day & entirely switch out the bedding every 3-4 days) & take any extra veggies they don't eat out of the cage as soon as they are done.
2) Try to get one of those hanging sticky paper fly traps, they work great.
3) This homemade gnat trap works great too: Get a cup (styrophone ones work great), pour in about 3 tablespoons of itailian or vinaigrette dressing, squirt about 1 tablespoon of dish washing liquid in there, mix it with a spoon or swirl it together, get some saran wrap (just enough to cover the top), pull it tightly over the top & use a rubberband around the top rim of the cup to keep it in place, punch holes in the saran wrap once with a fork (3-4 holes), place the cup near the cage but make sure the guinea pigs can't get to it. Let it sit for at least 24 hours... You'll see, the gnats will fly in the holes, but will not be able to find how to get out. When they get tired they will land in the soap/dressing goop and die.

You could try citronella oil. Bugs and insects don't like the smell and stay away.
You need to keep the oils well away from your gp's (obviously lol), and it would help to keep the cages and surrounding areas as clean as possible.
