I have a situation, i have a shed, and in the shed i keep animals, guinea pigs, rabbits. And its summer and fly strike is somthing much feared, i do not let the animals out but some fly get in and i am worried one of the animals will catch the fatal disease. I have been hoping to get a fly trap, as it seems the most logical thing to do right now. Some questions though:

1) How much would one cost from dobbies garden world?
2) Do they need watering, and how often?
3) Do the actually help keep flies down?
4) Are they a hard plant to keep?
5) Can i call it Bert?

(sorry for the stupid questions but i have only ever had a pet cactus, named calco, and i am not sure how to care for another plant.)

1) How much would one cost from dobbies garden world? Small plants are normally £4-7.

2) Do they need watering, and how often? They need lots of watering make sre they don't dry out.

3) Do the actually help keep flies down? Not really ,each head only catches about 5 flies in its life, get some ly spray and clean ot the cages every day.

4) Are they a hard plant to keep? No,just remember to geive them water

5) Can i call it Bert?

1) How much would one cost from dobbies garden world? Most venus fly traps cost around $ 4 to 10

2) Do they need watering, and how often? Always keep the soil moist. Never let it dry out.

3) Do the actually help keep flies down? Each head usually only catches 3 insects, than that head will die and fall off and a new one will grow. It might slightly keep the flies down, but to actually impact the amount of flys in the shed, you probably would want to buy a couple venus fly trap plants.

4) Are they a hard plant to keep? They are harder than the average plants, but with the right research and care the your plant would probably be fine.

5) Can i call it Bert? No. I would call it Victor.

To really catch flies I recommended the fly strips that hang from the ceiling and the flies stick to them and die. But taking care of Venus Fly Trap plants are fun too.

Lol I can answer all but the first but when I bought some really mini ones they were under 5 pound for sure.

They need watering or would die since they're a living thing and it should be too hard I also suggest getting some nice big ones

They can catch bugs but don't it depends whether it flies near the trap so maybe buy lots to spread round the room

And FINALLy...SUREBBB call it wteva ya want!
