all chimps are monkeys, but not all monkeys are chimps? They are all primates, but I think monkey is a more generic term, and chimp describes a specific animal, like our commander in chimp in the white house.

A chimp is simply a type of "monkey" or primate, like a gorilla or a baboon. There is no difference. Sorry.
