I called Petco and asked if ferrets are tax free this weekend, and I heard several people laugh in the back, then the lady answered 'yes there is'. I'm very confused, and want to know if pet store animals can be tax free.

The tax free only applies to school supplies, so, no, most likely the petstore is not having a tax-free weekend also.
