Hello im gill,

Im might be buying to female rabbits this week

You might be thinking why are you asking about babies then?

Well, my friend has to male rabbits and we may put them in a run together
and put see though netting between them to start off with.

If you of my rabbits did get pregent do I take the other female out?
and put it in the run (maybe inside my garage).

What are the clear signs of a pregent rabbit?

how long does it take for there period and give birth?

do i let the mother into the run or leave her with the litter?

How long do i leave the litter alone for?

I have read that about 1-2 baby rabbits die in the litter?

Do bright lights effect the babies (and loud sounds )?

i have never done this before please help

gill :)x

Hi Gill(:

I'm not trying to sound like a Biotch. But please do not breed. From what I've heard your sounding quite irresponsible. The only reason anyone should be breeding is if your trying to improve the breed or that their meat rabbits. And if your trying to improve the breed that means that the parents are both show rabbits and purebreds. Other wise its called backyard breeding and it will be frowned upon. Did you know that there are rabbit shelters? Don't add to the already unwanted rabbits. And your clearly clueless , but we all start out that way. It sounds as if your rabbits are caged together? That is very unwise. As you see , rabbits are territorial. And don't take well to the others Presence. I would advise you take one out and get it , its own cage. Also , are you prepared to have up to 10 baby rabbits? That means having to have 10 cages. And if you don't sex them exactly at the right time , you may end up with more pregnant females. More babies. Ever heard of the saying 'breed like rabbits' or something like that , its because rabbits can get pregnant at any time of the year , all year round , Rabbits are only pregnant for a month. They give birth on the 28-32 day. Usually around the early morning or late at night. Rabbits don't show any signs of being pregnant. None. Because their prey animals they don't want any predators knowing that there will soon be a easy helpless dinner of baby rabbits. Leave the mom with her babies , you'll probably never see her with her babies. Because she doesn't want to draw attention to them. You'll never see her feed them either. And even if you do breed them despite my warnings of NOT TO , the chances are the whole litter will die. Not just 1-2. Usually during a doe's first litter they all die. There's also a chance the doe will die to. Did you know you have to buy a nesting box? for her to give birth in. And you should only be holding the babies once-twice a day for 10 minutes at the most. First time moms get very nervous. And the only reason you should be holding them is to check if there full , and healthy. ANd that there are no dead babies. They open their eye's at day 14. When they start getting fur you can hold them more and more. Bright lights don't affect them. Their born blind , deaf , and hairless. In other words , ugly.

I see you've never done this before. And I hope you never do unless your a breeder with show/meat rabbits. Its highly irresponsible.
