Absolutely not. Someone needs to look in on the rabbit every single day and give it fresh food and water. Either find a friend or family member willing to do this or hire a professional pet-sitter. Too much could go wrong. Rabbits won't ration their food, so it's likely that they will run out before the week is done. Water bottles can freeze in cold weather or develop leaks in any weather. The rabbit could develop an illness and die because no one was there to notice it was poorly.

And in regards to the temperature question, rabbits do fairly well with low temperatures, provided they are constantly provided with fresh unfrozen water, and the hutch is properly weatherproofed (sides blocked off to prevent wind and rain from getting in the hutch, plenty of straw for burrowing, etc.). This assumes they have been gradually acclimated to the lower temperatures through the natural seasonal changes. If the rabbit is currently kept somewhere warm (like in your home) and then stuck out in the cold, they are likely to become quite ill or die.

Leaving a rabbit alone for a whole week would not be a good idea. Things can happen... Like a couple of others said, 2 water bottles, even 32 oz ones would not be sufficient for a week. I would have someone come even just every other day, although every day would be best. Then they can make sure that the feed is stocked, the cages are secure, and the water is full.

As for surviving low temperatures, yes they can. If you have a Newzealand White, which is albino, they are very well equipped to survive the cold. They grow very thick coats and will stay very warm. However, if it is going to get very cold, like below 20F then you really should put some hay in the cage so that they can sit on it and burrow in it a little. Also, water will freeze at low temps so don't fill your water bottles up all the way, they will burst. Make sure you thaw the tubes, because the little ball will get frozen inside the tube and they won't be able to drink. If you keep your rabbit inside I would not recommend leaving him out in cold weather. However, if he is outside most or all of the time, and has a wind break where he is living, then he should be perfectly fine. We just had a cold week where overnight temps were in the single digits (F) and I had several week old litters. They all did fine, you just have to make sure they have some hay and are covered up with fur. I hope that answers your question. :)

No! That is too long to leave any animal without care. Have someone look in on it or get a sitter. Water bottles can leak and food dispensers can spill. Rabbits can tolerate low temps if they have a proper hutch with a windbreak area and good bedding. This is true ONLY if it's a rabbit that has been kept outside ALL the time! NEVER take a rabbit that has been kept inside and put it out in the cold, NO matter what kind of housing you provide! It will FREEZE as it will not have it's "winter coat" due to being inside!!!!!

No, a rabbit needs to be checked everyday. Rabbits will not monitor their food intake and will eat all the food in the first day or so and will starve to death afterwards. Water bottles can leak and food dishes can tip over or be knocked off the cage leaving your rabbit with nothing.

Rabbits can go down hill very fast, you can have a healthy rabbit one day and a very sick one the next.

Rabbits need to have food avaliable and be eating most of the time. Without food for more than 24 hours, they can die a very painful death.

Hire someone to come check on your rabbit, feed it, give it water and give it interaction. If you leave your rabbit alone for a week, you will most likely come home to a dead rabbit.

No! What if your rabbit hurts itsself or gets ill? Thats if it would even have enough food and water to last it, I know two water bottles would NOT last my rabbit a week.

God, are you too cheap to get a petsitter or do you just not care?

No you can not!

They will get really lonely and angry and start destroying and digging it's way out of it's cage. Because of the food left out it will become stale and it wont eat and become hungry, another possibility is, having so much food it could eat it all in one day and become ill.

Please have someone pet sit your rabbit!
