If you have ever had to box a kangaroo (as I have had the privelege of doing in an illegal gambling haven deep in the deserts of Australia), you will quickly realize that not only can kangaroos hop backwards, but can nimbly sidestep punches and counter with a mean uppercut.

I don't know the answer to this one for sure, but when they hop forward, they push themselves off by their toes. So I don't see how they would be able to hop backwards. How would they get the momentum?
