There was a rooster in my yard, and my cat killed it, and now the owner of the rooster is trying to sue me, Do they really have a case, will they win? The cat did kill the rooster, but the rooster was in my yard.I tried offering to buy them another rooster but the owner of the rooster said that wont do,see you in court.

The chicken was on your property, so no way can they sue you, really, don't worry about it ;)

I have heard loads of people threaten others with things like this, it would be a such of waste of time and money to bother. If buying a new rooster can't do then I don't think the owner would be bothered to spend that much money on going to court...when they're gonna loose the case...:D

So, no way, too much money, and no chance ;)

Infact, you could be annoyed with his rooster, being in your property! >:(

He'll be wasting his time and money suing you. His rooster should have been properly contained. Tell the court the rooster attacked your cat and the cat killed in self-defense, and they will all but laugh at his ignorance of the laws.

Yes. In addition to killing, if your cat wounds or worries any animal, the owner is liable for all damages. But If it happens on your property than no they don't have a case.
