we were talking about my friend's, dog's tall getting cut off , and one of my friends asked her if the dog fell over right after they did ,because he couldn't keep balanced?
he said that's what they do to a lamb, and the lamb can't walk after word cause their tall kept them balanced...

so i was like ' why do they cut their tall of anyway?'
I know they cut off a dogs tall, because it makes them less hyper, but what about a lamb?

help please!

they are cut off because if they don't,in the future the wool would get long and the poop would get stuck in the wool and flies would lay eggs on it and then maggots would hatch and start eating the sheep, then it (the sheep) would die.they HAVE to do it....in most places they just take a tight rubber band and put it around the tail and then in a week or so the tail will fall off by its self and it doesn't cause them to lose their balance...

yeah as some people already said we take lambs tails off because they only get poop on them and get dirty and serve no real purpose as the wool keeps the flys away unlike a horse's hair....and I always use a rubber band on the tail and I have never had a lamb not be able to walk from it...the lambs seem a little uncomfortable for about a day but then it dosn't bother them at all

Its because when lambs urinate, the poop sticks to the wool. I honestly dont like how a lot of people just burn off the tails like its not big deal. A lot of people do it creuly. I think its pointless
