Im going to go pick up a little joey soon and i wanted to know which gender from experience you think is best. I heard boys are a little more smelly and tend to pee on you more. Whats your take on which gender is best and why? Also i'd appreciate any advice for a first time owner of a sugar glider. I would love some tips, anything you can offer. Im only getting one because i go to sleep very late and have the time to spend 3 plus hours with it. THANKS!

I have had both and I think the girls are better they seem to be more friendly. I have 3 males right now my female just passed on last week their mother and she was so sweet. Now you know they are nocturnal and stay up running around the cage and bark. They are beautiful little animals and if you have the time to spend with them the make good pets.

Gender doesn't really matter. Gliders can be a bit high maintenance and normally can't be litter trained so will go wherever. Do the research on these characters. Site below has good info on them, including feed and health issues. Also has links to other sites dealing with Gliders. They do make great pets.

the two are very friendly and playful. Boys basically scent somewhat worse. they have 2 heady scent glands and tend to pee on you plenty greater. extremely in the event that they at the instant are not neutered (so I hear). that's definitely stated which you have a pair even with the shown fact that. they are particularly social animals and choose hours of interest and love each and daily. and that's not basically a training... gliders can certainly die from melancholy as a results of loneliness. even even with the shown fact that! I actually have a single glider and he's chuffed a flippin' clam! because of the fact I even have been waiting to commit all of my interest to him. plenty greater advantageous than maximum glider proprietors are waiting to offer. he's with me many many hours an afternoon and his unique proprietor did a hell of a job socializing him and getting him used to human beings as a joey/"teenager." understand even with the shown fact that, this could be a different situation. I very nearly take care of him like my very own infant. I basically inform you this because of the fact i'm particularly ill of human beings holding this not uncomplicated and speedy rule that single-glider proprietors are "merciless" and "poor" and blah blah. because of the fact in the event that they took one look at how nicely my little guy has grew to become out residing with out yet another glider... they had close up actual speedy. Sorry if I sound protecting, yet i'm particularly bored with being observed as a poor mom while my little Ralphie has been observed as "the friendliest glider i've got ever met" via many, MANY experienced glider proprietors and puppy save proprietors. nonetheless, you will desire to get a pair if conceivable. That way in case you could not supply him adequate interest he will have a playmate.

I researched a lot, and I am getting a pair of two female sugar gliders in May, so I suggest you get a female. Males are more smelly, and such. Also best luck to you, and your sugar glider!
